Pattern Recognition

I made a point a few days ago by e-mail (how old school and web 1.0) to a couple of colleagues of mine, about how the whole "Lonelygirl15" phenomenon reminisces the storyline in William Gibson's 2003-novel "Pattern Recognition".

Of course, I wasn't the only one - or the first - to think of this connection. I should have looked no further than the William Gibson board, where I just found this interesting tread.
